The Redstone Historical Society invites you to another ‘Fireside Chat’ on Monday, December 9th at 5:30 at the Redstone Inn.  Our guest is local author Larry Meredith who will be interviewed by his (Carbondale librarian) daughter, Suzy Meredith-Orr.

Please join us for a lovely evening as they unfold Larry’s process in developing the plot for his historic novel, This Cursed Valley. We have all read this epic tale of the first people to inhabit the Crystal River Valley and beyond.  And now we can join the author in discovering the facts that lead to the creation of this story.  (So exactly, where is Owl Point?)

The Meredith family’s  roots in the Crystal Valley date back for over eighty years. We have benefited greatly by Larry’s articles in our local newspapers emphasizing the role of the original people who have lived here from the beginning and detailing the development of the small Colorado towns settled via prospecting, mining, ranching and supporting the railroads.
